Have we told you we’re STEAMED?! That means we celebrate Science, Technology, Engineering, Agriculture, Art, Math, Entrepreneurship, and Design.
Our weekly engineering and community workshop classes celebrate these concepts by delighting in the wonder they bring. Learning should not feel like work, and at Lemonade that’s precisely what we strive for. The Makers and Shakers group start learning by exploring materials; Innovation Station cultivates the curiosity of the “process;" Design Time begins to explore the process of innovation; and Innov8 celebrates the awesomeness of innovation and explores how to bring an idea to market.
We encourage you to share thoughts and concerns with us immediately as they arise. Sharing your feedback (positive or negative) allows us to grow and change. You may do so by emailing firstname.lastname@example.org. A copy of these policies are also handed out at the first class.
Registration, Enrollment & Cancellations
Registration is required for all classes and workshops. To guarantee your spot, begin by clicking the REGISTER HERE! link at the menu bar and selecting the class you would like to register your child for. Registration must be completed prior to the first class to ensure that there is space and materials for your child.
Cancellation must be done in writing by the second class for a partial refund to be issued. Full refunds will only be issued before the first class and with extenuating circumstances, as materials have already been purchased and assigned.
Projects may be broken into groups, depending on the project. Please be prompt (5 minutes prior) to the beginning of class to ensure classes start with full cooperation and attention.
Classes may be cancelled due to inclement weather or instructor illness. The registrant’s family will be informed with a phone call and email. A reschedule date will also be defined.
Like Lemonade Workshop on Facebook for the latest information, including class cancellations.
Payment is due in full by the first class either by prepayment via the website with credit card, cash, or checks made out to Lemonade Workshop.
Food is not permitted on the shop floor (as in any shop). However, a closable container for beverages is allowed in the café area.
Real hand tools and small power tools are used in class. Prior to activities that involve tools, age-appropriate training is provided. Additionally, we provide all children with protective eye-wear to use during class, and they are expected to wear them. Mr. Mike is CPR and First Aid certified and a First Aid kit is at the ready in the workshop.
Our guideline at the workshop is:
1. Respect yourself
2. Respect others
3. Respect materials
4. Everyone is safe
This is reviewed at the beginning of each class and repeated throughout. Safety is priority No. 1.
Pick Up/ Drop Off
Parents and guardians are welcome to stay for any and all classes to check out what happens at the workshop. Please use the café tables if you chose to stay. There is also a toddler area if you have small children, but smaller children (3 and under) are required to stay out of the active workshop.
If you chose not to stay, children will only be released to persons identified on the registration form, please provide written authorization for another adult to pick up your child.
We provide aprons. However, we are a workshop with materials like paint, various adhesives, and paper pulp among others being used. Your child might get messy, dress accordingly.
We don’t like clutter. We do not want to send clutter to your home. That being said, at the end of most of the six weeks there will be projects for your child to bring home. These are “tinkering” projects, we encourage the kids to continue their iterations.
Intellectual property, designs, and inventions made by your child are the sole property of the developer…AKA.... your child! Lemonade Workshop is the facilitator of ideas and will never make claims suggesting otherwise.
Lemonade Workshop maintains a Facebook page and Instagram account. Your child’s picture will not be posted on our page unless prior written authorization is received. However, we may photograph projects completed at the workshop and post them online. Please inform us in writing if you do not want your child’s projects posted via Facebook.
Please support the retail in our shop. Support of the retail helps to keep class costs accessible.
We ask that children hang up coats and place belongings in the back room prior to the beginning of class (hence 5 min early is prompt). Lemonade Workshop is not liable for any personal belongings. We will do our best to place anything remaining in the lost and found.
